Mission Statement
Import Auto was founded to help our customers manage vehicle maintenance plans for a life of protection, maintaining great performance and helping their vehicles last longer. This is accomplished with a thorough maintenance program and an industry leading warranty, in a friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful environment.

Ron Stagg received his AAS degree in Automotive Repair from Snow College. He later received his BA in American studies from Utah State University. He has worked for various car dealerships and independent repair shops. In 2003 he and James Porter took over the operation of Import Auto. Ron is a certified ASE mechanic in 5 areas. He has previously worked as a mechanic, sales person, and manager for two bicycle shops in Logan. He enjoys trail running and has completed many ultra-marathons. He has enjoyed many years of cycling on the roads of Cache Valley. He has been one of the pioneers of backcountry skiing in the Bear River and Wellsville ranges. Ron and his family recently built an energy efficient home in Benson.

James Porter attended college at Weber State University majoring in Automotive Technology. He has been working on cars since 1978. Most of his career has been spent at new car dealerships. He has dealership experience with Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Saab, Fiat, GM, Dodge and Chrysler products. Later he was able to gain experience repairing all makes and models at used car dealerships. James is an ASE certified master technician and is certified in advanced engine performance.

James is retired from the United States Army Reserve where he achieved a final rank of Captain. James and his wife have 4 children and together they enjoy travel, movies and biking. Next to his family, the automotive service industry has been one of the best things in his life. He loves helping customers get the most out of their vehicles.
